Hawaii where it all started
In Hawaii, a small group of printmakers revived the copper plate photogravure technique. There is much to learn about the process especially when combines with other techniques both new and old. As a beginning photographer, I was drawn to the very sculptural plant forms of the subtropics where I was living. Then I became interested in the destruction of the termite-ridden houses in my neighborhood. I felt an urge to capture some of the past, multi cultural history. Not all images are pretty. They do, hopefully, capture the fragility of wood and stone structures.
